Martin & MacArthur is a Honolulu-based company that makes and markets some of the finest Hawaiian furniture and gift items. Established in 1961, the company has earned a reputation as the leading practitioner of Hawaiian furniture. In addition, it operates two stores selling its furniture and fine Hawaiian craft products. The company also distributes supplies for picture framers and hardwood lumber, especially Hawaiian hardwoods and plywood. The company employs more than 50 people with varied skills, such as fine woodworking and finishing, retail and wood processing. The furniture line includes chairs, sofas and loveseats, beds, tables, desks and accent pieces. The company has attempted to contribute to the community in which it operates by providing jobs for challenged and disadvantaged workers, creating an apprenticeship program for furniture makers and actively participating in community organizations.
