Mohammed Alzein, M.D. has done what some say is impossible. He opened Advanced Urgent Care, a free-standing alternative to an emergency department in April 2012. Their patient-centric, "the doctor will see you now" concept has caught on. Advanced Urgent Care's 8,500 square-foot facility at Orland Park IL has the staff and equipment you'd expect to find in a hospital-based ER, including trained doctors and staff, imaging, lab and more. By design, one thing is missing: a waiting room. "When patients walk in, they are immediately greeted, and within minutes they are escorted to their own private room under the care of a clinical team member," says Dr. Alzein, Chief Medical Officer for Advanced Urgent Care.
