The owner Captain Wayne Gilbert grew up in the Everglades and has been a professional Airboat captain as well as a back country fishing guide for over 30 years, honing his skills in the earlier days working for different commercial tour companies in south Florida, felt the need for a private tour company that was not watered down and touristy. He formed the company and felt the market needed faster, smaller airboats that were more manuverable and fun. The other important aspect was making the tours private instead of being stuck on a barge with 50 people on a boat that was limited to its access in the backcountry.
