Amber Shannon

Hi there! My name is Amber Shannon. I'm a native South Floridia girl with 8 years of experience in the fashion industry, specifically in fashion show production and fashion styling. After retreating from this sometimes harsh industry for a while, I happened upon its soul - something I feared it was missing! I saw a little article on a textile designer (Harmony Susalla of Harmony Arts) who produced hip, adorable prints on smooth organic cotton! Until then, I thought of organic clothing as big, burlap, potato sack ponchos! That little article started me on an amazing, rewarding adventure I had never thought possible in fashion. I finally found this elusive soul of fashion in eco-friendly, sweatshop-free clothing! The beginning of this adventure began in 2007 when I opened a small boutique selling only organic, fair trade clothing and recycled accessories located in Dania Beach, Florida (which is just south of Fort Lauderdale). I met some amazing people, got involved with some really cool projects and organizations, and most importantly, got this (until then) hard to find clothing into the closets of South Floridians everywhere! Now, in 2008, I have transitioned to a more mobile operation which allows me to reach more people and tell them about the wonderful eco and people friendly clothing that's out there! I am now focusing on doing presentations to educate people about eco-friendly, sweatshop-free clothing, acting as an independent sales rep for my favorite eco-fashion lines, maintaining www.EcoFashionFlorida.com and other exciting projects that are currently in the works!
