Cypress Lock & Safe

From 1970 - 2002 Owners Mike and Jim owned the shop. Mike would run the shop, and Jim would be on call, they worked as a team. In 2002 Robert Dorantes bought the shop from Mike and Jim who wanted to move out of California and stick strictly to safe work. Robert, a second generation locksmith, had been manager of a few lockshops and ran a successful swap meet business at Golden West Swap meet with his 3 sons. All 3 of his sons eventually started to work at his shop; Dean is now a locksmith at LAX International Airport, and Derek and Drew work fulltime at Cypress Lock and Safe. Early in 2012 we redesigned the front of the shop, painted and got a nice new sign and the building we had been renting a unit from sold! We we're forced to move down the street, but into a much better location.
