In the spring of 1969, Romolo and Mary Grace Duran set out on a venture to open a leather goods store; but in the course of that venture, came to open up a small restaurant on Fremont Street called “El Burrito Café.” Having never been involved as a proprietor of a restaurant, but with the help of family and friends they were able to bring to Las Vegas the finest in Mexican food. Many Las Vegans will remember that little hole in the wall with it’s homey atmosphere and many leather goods hanging from the walls. In 1985, El Burrito West was opened and in 1993 El Burrito Mexican joined the family and continues to serve what many Las Vegans call the “best Mexican food.” Thank you for your continued patronage and from our family to yours … Buen Provecho
