A Bar and Grill in Fort Lauderdale FL
Opened in 1939 as the Highway Grill, H. Fred Reichert Sr. bought a local bar in 1948 and renamed it Freddie's, Fred Jr. resurrected the restaurants kitchen in 1993 and built a hopping lunch trade. Fred Sr. died -- behind the bar -- in 1998. Tina Russo now the owner of Freddie’s was working for Fred Sr. almost 43 years ago. Today Freddie’s Anchor Grill is serving up home cooked meals and bar food along with cold beer and cocktails.
