Established in 1982.Gerard moved to Hawaii in 1972 and worked for various restaurants on Oahu and Maui before opening the original Gerard's in 1982. A casual, chalk board menu place where Gerard would create his dishes after getting his ingredients from local fisherman & farmers. A true pioneer in farm to table dinning, long before it became fashionable. In 1987 Gerard moved his restaurant just a half block up Lahainaluna Rd. to the Plantation Inn. He has quietly continued his culinary greatness the only way he knows how, making each dish exactly perfect. Sourcing only fresh caught whole fish directly from local fisherman and fruits and produce from his own garden and others on Maui and Big Island. Gerard's team of professionals in the front and back of the house execute team service to perfection. A seamless flow in the kitchen continues to the front of the house where dishes are served straight from the oven to the guest. Servers work together to assure every table gets VIP service.
