Hi-Tech Surf Sports

Hi-Tech Surf Sports is a Maui-owned company, started by board shaper Craig Maisonville in 19822. Kim Ball joined him as a partner in 1984, Maisonville ran the board factory, Ball ran the retail side. Maisonville left the company in 1990 to enter the ministry full-time. Hi-Tech has four stores; the original store in Paia, Kahului (opened in 1984), Kihei (2014), and a surf boutique in Queen Kaahumanu Center called Shapers (1994) Hi-Tech is very involved with the Maui community sponsoring local surfers, skateboarders, bodyboarders, and stand-up paddlers. Hi-Tech also organizes surf meets, skate events, windsurfing races and a fishing & diving tournament.
