Photographers are often the timekeepers who capture significant moments. As a photographer and artist I am constantly analyzing my surroundings, picking out key subjects, taking note of the lighting, quickly framing each scene, determining which lens to use, and adjusting the viewpoint to get the greatest impact with each click of the button. My goal is not to simply document the moment, but capture the essence of it with a beautiful photograph that tells a unique story. To do this, I must give viewers a reason to look long enough to see the important details and not merely take a glimpse. One of the best ways I can maintain the interest of a viewer is by capturing an emotion that the viewer connects with.
