Maui Hands Paia

Searching the island for treasures, I soon realized that Maui was overflowing with creative and talented people. The original 25 artists who joined my Makawao venture in 1992 grew to 200, necessitating a larger venue. I opened another store at the Kaahumanu Center in 1994. As time passed, with brisk sales and smoothly running galleries, I decided to open another gallery, this one with lots of wall space and pedestals for large sculptures. Maui Hands Paia opened in 2000 and won a Best Gallery award in it's 3rd year. The New Millennium also brought with it an opening in a hotel environment at the Hyatt Regency in Kaanapali. In 2004 I moved the Kaahumanu Center gallery to Front Street, which won Best Gallery in Lahaina in 2008. In 2011 we reopened the original Makawao Gallery in a much larger space on Makawao Ave. We now represent over 300 artists, artisans and jewelers.
