Patrick Allen Acupuncture + Herbology

I grew up in Central Michigan with a background in Public Relations. I really wanted a job that involved helping people and I believe Chinese Medicine is the perfect fit. I moved to Portland in 2009 to attend Oregon College of Oriental Medicine, the top rated Chinese Medicine school in the country. At OCOM, we studied a wide variety of subjects including acupuncture, herbal medicine, anatomy, pathology, and general medicine. After an extended internship at Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China, I began my practice. I like to apply both Western and Eastern approaches when working with patients. I believe the combination of the two helps to uncover the root cause of the patient's complaint. I also believe we are all our own best health advocates, and like to teach my patient's about the medicine. I believe a collaborative approach with the patient and practitioner is the best way to achieve their health goals.
