Empanadas have been around for hundreds of years, originating in Spain in the early 1600’s. Every culture uses its own unique ingredients and preparation techniques. However, it was the traditional Argentine empanada recipes, and simple take-to-go bakeries and outdoor gourmet markets, that Sergio Ciba, an entrepreneur with a passion for specialty foods, found especially inspiring.
