Virtual Pictures Corp, commonly known as VPiX®, is an American multinational company specializing in on-site 3D capture services and the leading provider of DIY augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) software. The company is headquartered in Monument, Colorado, and is known for its on-demand AR/VR Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms. These platforms cater to a diverse clientele, including automobile dealers, businesses, colleges, hotels, law enforcement agencies, military organizations, real estate brokers, RV dealers, VRBO property managers, and yacht brokers. The company's roots trace back to its founder, Bart Wilson, who previously held notable positions at Qualex/Eastman Kodak, and another entrepreneur - a QuickTime product manager from Apple Computer. Initially launched as Voyager 360, the venture skyrocketed to become the world's first DIY platform targeting the real estate market, picking up lucrative VR capture contracts from Wyndham Extra Holidays, Sheraton Hotels, and the FBI. Following the real estate market downturn in 2009, the assets of Voyager were acquired by Virtual Pictures Corp, resulting in the rebranding to VPiX®.
