Abbott's Village Tavern

6 E Main St
Marcellus, NY 13108

A Bar and Grill in Marcellus NY

Established in 2012. The Village Tavern was originally a two-story building called The Cottage Saloon, owned by John Duggan over 110 years ago. He was known for serving fish fry and beer on Fridays for a nickel. He continued to be open for business while a new three-story structure was being built around it. When the exterior was finished, the interior was renovated. Upon Duggan's death, his son took over the business, which was advertised in 1914 as "C.B. Duggan's Hotel, and Metropolitan Barroom." The establishment has been passed on to many owners, but it was Edward Sennett who changed the name to Sennett's Village Tavern in May of 1959. This is the present site of Abbott's Village Tavern.
