The company sells lighting as well as surge suppression products. It also conducts energy audits. From its beginning as a group of farmers who decided to work together to provide themselves with electricity, Albemarle EMC has grown into a $22 million business that serves nearly 10,500 families and businesses in the North Carolina region. The company headquarters is in Hertford, N.C.
