Melissa Edelman's downtown Highland Park antique shop, Antiquaire, is perfect for those who like a side of industrial edge with their French country motif. Oak tables and armoires bump up against white milk-painted Gustavian Swedish pieces, pottery and huge copper pots from Istanbul, and old butcher tables and industrial lockers from France. Antiquaire's inventory is constantly changing with the arrival of huge containers from Europe, and ranges from 17th century French country and Italian mid-century modern to funky French industrial. Antiquaire's in-house full-service design team has professionally arranged their Exquisite European Antiques throughout many showhouses demonstrating the synergy of old and new in decorating and design.
