Barefoot Country Store

Kira and her husband have a farm in Keene where they raise pigs and cattle with their 3 children. This meat is used in the kitchen at Barefoot, as well as sold in retail cuts at the store! Kira graduated from Tandem and then PVCC with her nursing degree. She then worked at Martha Jefferson in the ED for a number of years. Now she is taking a break from all that and following a passion with the creation of Barefoot Country Store! She got lucky enough to meet Karen Fieldler, and even luckier when Karen agreed to sign on as Chef! Karen is from Newark, Delaware and graduated from the University if Delaware with her degree in Restaurant and Hotel Management. Most recently she was head Chef at Tin Whistle Irish Pub. She lives in Fluvanna with her husband and her 2 dogs! She has graced Barefoot Country Store with delicious smells and tastes of all different kinds of foods & a wonderful knowledge of meat and food preservation which she uses to cure our own bacon and make house dill pickles.
