Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center

Black Belt Treasures Cultural Arts Center (BBTCAC) is a non-profit economic development program marketing high quality products from the Black Belt region. Artists from the following nineteen counties within the Black Belt are represented by: Bibb, Bullock, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Monroe, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Sumt...er, Washington, and Wilcox. Since its opening in September 2005, Black Belt Treasures has grown from representing 75 artists to representing over 350. Many of the Black Belt Treasures artisans are creating works which are culturally significant, and some even considered vanishing arts. Black Belt Treasures believes it is important to share these arts and crafts with the public as a way to promote interest and also to retain the skills and knowledge related to the arts for future generations.
