Spinal adjustment, also known as a chiropractic adjustment, is performed for the purpose of restoring full motion to the joints of the spine. Through direct injury or repetitive stress, supporting tissues of the spine can become damaged, resulting in abnormal motion patterns which can affect nearby discs and nerves. Adjustment of the affected joints restores mobility, thereby alleviating pain and allowing the surrounding tissues to heal. We also offer therapies including: Intersegmental Traction is used to help restore elasticity to the tissues surrounding the spine. Electric stim is used to reduce muscle spasms and decrease the associated pain. Ice is used to reduce inflammation (swelling) during the acute phase of a condition. Moist Heat is used to relax tight muscles and increase blood flow to affected areas.
