It started with a vision of providing the residents of the Imperial Valley with a comfortable and casual location, where they could have a great tasting, high quality burger, accompanied by a refreshing, ice-cold beer, all at an affordable price. Kurt Honold, Owner and Founder of Burgers & Beer, took this vision to the next level and gave the Imperial Valley it's first taste of burger bliss in 1985, when he opened the doors to the very first Burgers & Beer restaurant, located in Calexico, CA.n Burgers & Beer, founded in 1985, is a chain of restaurants that offers food and beverage items. It features a selection of fastfood items, Mexican food, side dishes, as well as beer and wine collections. The restaurant offers breakfast specials, burgers, appetizers, salads, chicken dishes, sandwiches, hot dogs, burritos and scrambled eggs. Its Mexican food items include angelitos, camaronillas, carne asada tacos, chicken chipotle tacos, fajitas, steak ranchero, tortilla soup and torta borracha. It also offers food items for children that include eggs, hot cakes, bacon and Belgian waffles. In addition, its beer list includes draft beer, domestic micros and imported varieties. Burgers & Beer maintains a location in El Centro, Calif.
