Established in 1996.Caliche's Frozen Custard, where customer service is king. It has always been that way, and it always will be. From humble beginnings, David and Dana Wortham started this frozen custard business on a whim in an area where everyone believed custard was basically flan. Dana is originally from Missouri, where frozen custard is basically a staple. David was raised in Anthony, New Mexico before moving to Missouri where he and Dana met. While there they ran an auto detailing business before moving back to New Mexico in 1992. Going out on a limb, they purchased an old burger joint in Las Cruces and renovated it to become Scoopy's Frozen Custard, opening the last weekend of October 1996.
