Charles E, Lakin Human Services Campus

Lakin, who grew up in Emerson, and his wife, Florence, who was raised in Malvern, were major donors to a number of area projects, including the Charles E. Lakin Human Services Campus and Charles E. Lakin Habitat for Humanity Campus. Programs they started included the Outstanding Teacher Awards given annually to southwest Iowa teachers and the swimming programs at Boys & Girls Clubs of Council Bluffs and Completely Kids in Omaha.
