In 1976 Clint's brother found a newspaper ad saying that two gentlemen had a small landscaping business for sale. When Clint's brother responded to the ad he found that the two gentlemen were ages 78 and 82 and had 3 residential customers, 1 hotel and 1 apartment building that they had been mowing, trimming and pruning for years. Now they felt at their age they just couldn't do it anymore and wanted to sell and retire. The sale was made and a few days later two young college boys were in the landscaping business with an old pickup truck, two push mowers and a handful of shovels and rakes. Thus Green Thumb was born. The two gentlemen were kind enough to work with Clint and his brother for a few weeks teaching them the art of landscaping. Three years later Clint's brother sold out to Clint and now 42 years later Green Thumb has over 160 loyal annual customers and has served thousands more.
