In 1923, Clovernook Country Club was developed on lush farmland in a charming, centrally located area of Cincinnati called North College Hill. Well-known golf course architects Langford & Moreau were commissioned to build a course here because of their reputation for working with the lay of the land to celebrate its natural beauty at over 60 golf courses across the country. Langford's primary intention: The course should be fun to play. Meticulously maintained and largely unchanged, it is indeed! Numerous stone bridges cross two creeks that wind thru the course along with a natural lake fronting both the 17th and 18th holes, all flanked by 100+ year old Oaks and undulating greens. One of Clovernook's founding members was noted Cincinnatian Powel Crosley Jr., the man behind multiple engineering inventions including local radio station WLW and Voice of America which allowed broadcast to Europe during WWII and now serves as the official external broadcast institution of the United States Federal Government. Additionally, Clovernook has hosted several US Open Qualifiers including top players like Casey Martin, Sam Sneade and Jack Niclaus.
