The Fetzner family has been in the automotive business for as long as there have been cars. In the late 1800's John Fetzner owned and operated a blacksmith shop on West Ridge Road in Rochester, NY. The shop worked on buggies and carriages before the automobile was invented in the early 1900’s. With the arrival of the automobile, John Fetzner's son, Ray, saw the need for a repair shop to service these vehicles. Ray Fetzner expanded the business to include a repair shop that sold and serviced Hudsons. Ray's son, John, worked for his father in the automobile business and began doing body work as well. In 1964, John Fetzner moved the auto body portion of the shop to its present location at 2485 Dewey Ave.
