Sandy and Mario Balcom grew up in Ramona, so the town and its people are very close to their hearts. Their desire in opening Get Fit Personal Training and Fitness Studio was to offer a place where Ramonans can come and get fit! The Balcoms, who help train Ramona High School’s cross-country and track teams, have the expertise to train individuals, couples or groups of six to 10 people, but they don’t stop there. “We’re not focused on just personal training classes,” said Sandy Balcom, adding that the family-owned fitness studio “is also available as a gym for people to train on their own.” In addition to offering equipment such as elliptical machines, treadmills and a complete weight training area, they have classes in cycling, senior fitness, yoga, Pilates, medicine ball, step, body and core strength, and more. Child care is available. Get Fit Studio will hold its grand opening Saturday, Jan. 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at its 751 Main St. location. The Balcom family will offer refreshments, giveaways, and will have demonstrations of the features the studio has to offer. The first 10 people who sign up will receive two private sessions free, which is a $100 value.
