There are two parts to grease trap maintenance. There is a cleaning aspect. And there is a maintenance aspect. Every municipality requires that each grease trap be cleaned out at a regular interval set by the inspector. The cleaning aspect is just that… a cleaning. The inspector wants to know that the grease trap box is cleaned out, scraped, and in working order to keep fats, oils, and grease out of the waste water lines.
