Originally called Albert's Restaurant, J & J's Grill on the Green has been in existence since 1979. Built by Albert & Sylvia Badschild, Bavarian immigrants who saw in the South Toe River Valley a beautiful location next to the Mt. Mitchell Golf Club to build a life running a restaurant and a motel, Albert's Inn, right next door which is still in operation. Albert & Sylvia retired in 2013 and have passed on their legacy to Jim & Julie who proudly continue serving the Bavarian and American food with the same quality and standards set by Albert and Sylvia all those years ago.
