Retired NFL player Johnny Ray Smith, a defensive back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1981 to 1984, along with his wife, Pamela, former cheerleader for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, opened Jazzy’s BBQ in October, 1996, naming the restaurant after their daughter, Jasmine. All of our side orders are prepared daily on the premises. Johnny, the owner, makes his own specialty BBQ Sauce, one hot and spicy, and the other sweet and mild. Kalen Smith, the owner’s son, also makes the BBQ Sauce and can be found mastering the grill in the footsteps of his father. Pamela makes all of the sumptuous homemade desserts, 7-up pound cake, mini-pecan or mini sweet potato pies. Whole cakes and pies are also available upon request.
