JR Magat Photography

I am a husband, father of two wonderful children and a Michigan resident my entire life - though I LOVE to travel (especially to escape the winter!) I married my wife Jennifer in 2006, and first gotten into - well, obsessed - with photography in 2008 while taking photos of my son & our little family. I would literally bring my camera everywhere! I just enjoyed the art of it and the beauty that comes from smiles/emotions in photos, and the memories and stories they tell. One of my favorite past times growing up was sitting in my parents' walk-in closet and looking through their old photo albums - baby books, but also their photos before children. In 2010, I had my first opportunity to shoot a wedding & that's when my journey as a wedding photographer began. Fast forward to now, and over 100 weddings of experience, its just surreal to look back on all of the amazing couples I've met & worked with, but I also look forward to what's ahead!
