An American Restaurant in York PA

Lyndon Quinn was first introduced to the diner business as a young boy. His father, Bill Quinn, owned Bill’s Diner, a 1961 Silk City Diner placed on the top of Dillerville Road in Lancaster, PA. Extremely dedicated and determined, Lyndon took over in 1978 moving Bill’s Diner to Route 72 on the south edge of Manheim. Lyndon was so anxious and excited to open his own diner. However, two days before the grand opening Lyndon received news that his dreams had burnt up in flames. How devastating to put so much time and money into your dreams for it to be burnt down. Well that did not stop Lyndon Quinn. If anything, it made him stronger. Lyndon finally opened with a new name – Lyndon Diner. It quickly became popular for the crab cake dinners, delicious breakfast and homemade bakery items. Customers loved to come in and sit at the counter to watch Lyndon use one hand to crack 4 eggs between each of his fingers. What can you say, he is great at what he does! Lyndon’s heart and soul was in his diner business. In 1991, he decided to expand by setting a brand new diner built by DeRaffele on a higher foundation. This added more tables along with more beautiful stainless steel. In 1993, Lyndon’s father, Bill Quinn, passed away. Most men cannot handle the stress of such a loss while still keeping the business running at its best. No matter how many struggles Lyndon has faced he always comes out stronger. In 2005, Lyndon sold his first diner in Manheim sending all of his attention to his vastly growing business in Lancaster. Lyndon City Line Diner was named best breakfast and best diner year upon year in different magazines and newspapers. Nothing could stop Lyndon from moving forward. Lyndon completely remodeled the inside of Lancaster’s location, to make it more modern while keeping his retro diner theme surrounded in mirror-finish stainless steel. In 2008, Lyndon bought his first liquor license for Lyndon City Line Diner making wine, beer and liquor available. Now he has a diner with unbeatable food and prices where you can also enjoy a nice cocktail, beer or glass of wine. Stepping forward again, he decided to buy another diner in York formerly known as The Starlite Diner. Lyndon bought this diner and renamed it The Lyndon Diner. This new diner, like the Lyndon City Line Diner in Lancaster, has a liquor license allowing him to create the same unique atmosphere in both locations. While continuing to look forward, Lyndon never lost site of his origins. His menus say, “Remembering you always, Dad” and carry on the recipes which brought his success. Both diners have huge menus with affordable prices. Lyndon worked tirelessly in the kitchen for over 30 years and has become a well known entrepreneur for his spectacular food, huge menu, and unbeatable prices. In 2017, Lyndon decided it was time to enjoy his well deserved retirement, so his son William Quinn took over the family businesses. William has been involved in the diners his entire life, learning the business from the ground up, as it is his passion just like it was his father and grandfather’s. After high school, William attended The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He spent his time there furthering his knowledge on business and food preparation at the most prestigious culinary school in the world. He graduated from CIA in 2015 then moved to Florida to seek more opportunities in the culinary industry. He started working as a chef at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Boca Raton, Florida. He worked there for two years and was able to expand his knowledge in other types of restaurants besides diners, but knew in his heart he always wanted to take over for his father to continue the family legacy. As the years go by, the restaurants continue to move forward, which is what William has been working hard to accomplish. The Quinn’s will forever have their hearts in the diner business and love to serve all of our loyal customers! Slainte!
