Magid Masonry

Ilya Magid fell in love with masonry as a school boy when he would spend his summers working on restorations of 14th and 15th century buildings at his home in Lithuania. This love of working with masonry continued during his university studies at Kaunas Politechnical Institute in Lithuania and Baumans Technical School in Moscow. In 1980 Ilya and his wife Regina moved to the United States. Ilya began working as a Mechanical Engineer and then went into the masonry business. Ilya had found his niche. There was a need for masons with knowledge and experience in building attractive and functional fireplaces in Santa Barbara County. In 1982 Ilya started Magid Masonry. Since that time, Ilya has created beauty and warmth from stones and bricks for thousands of families. Ilya is involved in the Santa Barbara community, both personally and professionally. He is an associate member of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the American Institute of Architects and an active member of the Santa Barbara County Contractors Association. Ilya was selected as "Builder of the Year" in 1995.
