Mainstreet Flower began in 2006 in an historic building, which was built in 1890, in downtown Hiawatha at 713 Oregon Street. Kim, the Entrepreneur, with the full support of her husband, Dennis, wanted to own her own business again. Dennis and Kim Kleopfer purchased the building and remodeled it themselves in the fall of 2006 shortly before it's opening that winter for business.
