Owned and independently operated by Ruben Dominguez, a first generation Spanish-American and second generation restauranteur in the Ironbound section of Newark, Catas opened its doors in February of 2011. Since then, Catas has broken the local mold and paved a new road in excellent dining and nightlife with an unparalleled atmosphere. The surrounding artistry is Gaudi inspired, the outside patio is adorned with a colorful mural and the upstairs lounge overlooks the fine dining room/nightlife and bar area.
