Adults Programs Studies show that over 90% of the bad things that happen to adults are ALL preventable. Aging, ill health, even our income, is all affected by the self development work we do. Our mission is to help you get the training you need to never end up in the bottom 90%. Instead we will help you get into the top 10% who are healthy, successful and happy.Youth Programs Studies have shown that almost 15% of all kids don't end up turning out OK. They get involved in poor life decisions, end up in the wrong crowd, some don't end up graduating high school or going on to higher education. Our job is to use Martial Arts as a tool to make sure that your child NEVER ends up in the bottom 15%!Established in 1988.The Martial Arts Center opened full time in Toledo in 1988 and became one of the early pioneers of Martial Arts in the region. Our vision was always to teach people of all ages more than just the physical aspect of the Martial Arts; but to also teach students how to use the mind to produce the results they wanted in every day life. In the early days, Sensei Hurtsellers and his team taught strictly Karate; but we always knew that there was and could be more. In 2002 our dojo name changed from its style specific school named "Academy of Karate" to it's now more eclectic name of "Martial Arts Center" to reflect the blending of styles taught to students today. In 2009 the Dojo moved to it's current single location at the magnificent "Shops at Fallen Timbers" in an area that reflects the beauty and professionalism that is part of the culture of the school. One goal has stayed consistent over the years; to help you use the arts as a tool to gain mastery of your mind, and therefore your life
