About Ómra Bodywork Ómra Bodywork is based on the principle of applying integrative techniques for your personal needs. Each treatment is individually tailored for optimal results. Ómra ("ohm-ruh") means "amber" in Irish. Amber is not only a beautiful gem- it is an aroma, a color, and it can possess a variety of textures. It can be an entire sensory experience! To honor the holistic sensory experience that inspired Ómra Bodywork, every massage treatment includes customized pure essential oils, the use of handmade topical muscle-soothing body butters, and heat therapy. My studies and experience have taught me how to utilize these combined elements to enhance every massage experience. My purpose is to promote long term healing with the help of nature's finest and purest traditional methods. My objective is to take the time to understand each individual's needs. Whether you are a one time visitor or in it for the long haul, my sincerest intention is to make a positive difference in your life. Professional Experience I have harbored a lifelong interest in alternative and traditional healing. After earning a degree in Religious Studies from Georgia State University in Atlanta, during which time I focused my studies on Eastern traditions, I relocated to the mountains of western North Carolina to pursue massage therapy. As the days passed learning about massage at the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Weaverville it quickly became clear to me that I had found my calling and I have never looked back! I have also added a certification in herbal medicine to my studies in order to custom-create the best products for the best results. I have spent a majority of my 13 year career practicing massage full-time in the spa industry. Most of this time has been spent in the position of Lead Therapist and trainer at a high-end spa in Asheville. This invaluable experience has not only allowed me to provide massage for thousands of clients, but has also helped me develop my trade through exposure to a diverse group of colleagues who have educated me in countless ways. I am proud to bring these experiences along with the inspired freedom of being able to integrate my own personal tried and true techniques and full control when it comes to quality of service, sanitation, and products at Ómra Bodywork.
