East Village's PDT bar—or Please Don't Tell bar—is a cheeky riff on the proverbial hole-in-the-wall. Accessed only through an anachronistic phone booth in Crif Dogs, a neighboring hot dog spot, PDT is a classic, hush-hush speakeasy, quietly beaming with swankiness and sophistication. Indeed, its genius lies in its proximity to Crif Dogs, allowing patrons to imbibe on PDT's exquisite cocktails while ordering more low-brow pub fare. Founder Jim Meehan and his PDT team bring adventurous flavor profiles to a dynamic array of cocktails. Meehan's inventiveness helped PDT earn many accolades over the years, including Drink International's first place on Drink International's World's 50 Best Bars List for 2011, as well as the very first James Beard Award for Outstanding Bar Program.
