Royster Memorial Golf Course

Richard Degree is the new Golf Course Manager at Shelby City Park's Royster Memorial Golf Course. Degree's previous experience includes serving as General Manager at Renaissance Park Golf Club and Revolution Park Golf Course in Charlotte, NC. In addition he worked for two 5-diamond resorts (Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort and Kiawah Island Resort) both of which held PGA, Senior PGA and LPGA events. Degree said "I see myself as an ambassador for my employer and I will continually market and represent the organization in the community". Some of the goals he hopes to implement include specialty days for business employees, junior golf promotions, creation of a women's league, and a family night at Royster Memorial. Parks and Recreation Director, Charlie Holtzclaw, stated "we are very pleased to have someone with Richard's experience and background in the golf profession to join our team.
