Sadie G. Mays Health & Rehabilitation Center was founded in 1947 by the late Sadie Gray Mays-- social worker, professor and wife of Dr. Benjamin E. Mays, President Emeritus of Morehouse College. Known initially as the Happy Haven Nursing Home, it was among the first nursing homes in Georgia where patients could receive loving, professional care with dignity, regardless of race or circumstance.
