Purnima Sau, MD, lead physician at Silver Spring Dermatology, brings more than 20 years of dermatological experience to children and adults with cosmetic and medical skin concerns. In 1966, Dr. Sau received her medical degree from Calcutta National Medical School in India. Shortly after graduating medical school, she relocated to the United States. Then, Dr. Sau completed a residency in pathology before serving as the Chief of Pathology at the U.S. Air Force Regional Hospital, Eglin in Florida. After completing dermatopathology training at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Dr. Sau served as Chief of Anatomic Pathology at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Base in Texas.Dr. Sau trained in dermatology at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) before assuming the role of Assistant Chief of Dermatology and Chief Dermatopathologist. Her appointment as Chief of Dermatology Service at Walter Reed is a position she is especially proud of. She retired from the military in 1998 and began her career in private practice soon thereafter. Dr. Sau is your skin-care partner, helping you look and feel your best at every stage of life.
