In 1965, sixteen year-old Walter "Wally" Garlock sought an opportunity to go to work. There were plenty of part-time positions in Milwaukee for the willing and able, and Wally met the criteria. After looking into various job possibilities, the service station business presented a challenge. It wasn't the $1.15 per hour wage that offered the incentive for spending hours pumping gas, pushing a broom and shuffling in oil-dry. It was the outlook of a future for Wally in the automotive repair business.
