Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center

The Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization run by voluntary staff. Our Center is dedicated to the aim of disseminating the knowledge of yoga as a means to achieve physical, mental and spiritual well-being and Self-realization. We have been in continuous operation at our present location on West 24th Street in New York since 1964 and have been teaching in NY since 1959. We are part of a world wide organization, the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center, founded by Swami Vishnu-devananda. A renowned authority on Hatha and Raja Yoga, Swami Vishnu-devananda was sent to the west by his Master, Swami Sivananda with the words 'people are waiting'. His mission was to spread peace with the teachings of Yoga and Vedanta.
