It began in 1928 with one man who emigrated from Scotland to pursue the American dream. Samuel K. Lavery, an electrician by trade, started the S.K. Lavery Appliance Company in an effort to increase his electrical business. In many cases, Sam would be installing the very first electric appliance and maybe even the first light bulb in a customer's home. As more appliances were introduced, the business expanded. In 1961, his sons Samuel Jr. and Robert took over the day-to-day management of the business and in 2001, Samuel Jr. and Robert expanded with a second location in North Haven, Connecticut. In August 2014, S. K. Lavery Appliance announced the opening of our third location in Glastonbury CT. Honesty and integrity has kept this family owned business strong for many decades.
