Mark Heiner got tired of working in high end uptown salons that offered a much more impersonal experience, so he opened his salon. Today, Slate Salon is a full service salon, offering a relaxing, inviting environment. Slate Salon was opened with the idea of being a boutique style high end salon downtown, offering the same quality services as the "well known" uptown salons. Located in the heart of the East Village, steps away from Thompkins Square Park, its unique design was hand picked by Mark himself, giving a personal touch to the warmth that is found at Slate.
