The String Bean

The String Bean was opened in 1977 in a remodeled old Alfie's Fish and Chips building on Spring Valley just west of Central Expressway. The current owners, Joe Gibson and Debbi McSwain, bought it February of 1980. It stayed at that location until 1982 and moved to the building next door to it when Pizza Junction closed down. The move from that location in 1995 was precipitated by the imminent demolition of Keystone Park shopping center, the official name of where the restaurant was located. A site was found in the northwest corner of Spring Valley and Coit Road in Sunnyland shopping center. We enjoyed that location for 25 years. Then we needed a change. We currently are located at the Northeast corner of Coit and Campbell. We have been in this location for 10 years. Many employees have been with us for many years.
