White Horse Tavern - Financial District

Established in 1934. There has been a White Horse on this block since the Dutch settlement of New Amsterdam, and is often credited with being the first tavern in the new city. Our current building dates to the 1870s and after being home to a number of merchants, was reborn as the White Horse Pub with the repeal of prohibition in 1934. Our family has owned the Tavern since the mid-1970s and we are proud to be part of the fabric of the downtown community.
